On , you are invited to London, Ontario - Canada's first UNESCO City of Music - to meet, learn from and engage with music champions from the civic realm.
A City of Music Conference is an accessibly priced, full-day discussion with colleagues on advancing your community through music. Attendees will share with and learn from other Ontario municipal staff and leadership, politicians, association leaders and music industry professionals during a day of transformative conversations, presentations and idea sharing. And of course, A City of Music Conference wouldn't be complete without live music programming.
Ontario has long been a leader in live music experiences with a variety of market sizes, wealth of events and dedicated venues.
A robust workforce helps deliver programming province-wide but isn't always included in critical industry conversations. To strengthen Ontario's position as an innovator, enhanced communication and more meaningful connection is required across municipalities. Deeper dialogue and knowledge sharing will bring forward imaginative solutions and resources and will be critical in revitalizing one of province's driving economic engines: the live music sector.
As the live events world recovers and re-opens into an uncertain economy, engagement with creative industries to foster community well-being and economic resiliency has taken on an increased importance across Ontario.
Sustainability and the future of live music presentation is being addressed across all levels of government, with discourse relating to greater accessibility and the removal of barriers at the forefront. Within these discussions, Ontario municipalities play a central role in creating a viable live events network.
