The Mannheim Model

The Mannheim Model denotes a holistic support structure for music, music business and creative economy. It entails a support and coaching programs for musicians starting at the pre-professional level, two universities where you can study popular music, jazz and classical music as well as music business, the first and only music hub dedicated exclusively to the music industry and a separate team supporting all music industry professionals and creatives in the city. Moreover, it also comprises the first nighttime economy position in Germany as well as support for creative placemaking and cross innovation projects. The Mannheim Model of the UNESCO Creative City of Music Mannheim has been considered an international best practice example of creative economy driven urban development for many years.
