Director of Secretariat for the Canadian Commission for UNESCO - the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization
With degrees from Brock University and Simon Fraser University, David is an experienced executive, author, and cultural leader. Since 2020, he is Director of Secretariat for the Canadian Commission for UNESCO – the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization. This organization was established by the federal government in 1957 to work as a bridge between UNESCO and Canadian civil society, academia, and governments. He leads a team responsible for implementing UNESCO programmes in Canada, and advising the Government of Canada on matters related to UNESCO. He is currently pursuing a Certificate in Multilateral Diplomacy from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, with a focus on city diplomacy.
