  • Jacob Wagner

Coordinator, Music Subnetwork, UNESCO Creative Cities Network

As an urban planner and university faculty member – Jacob is interested in the power of music to transform cities. A lifelong advocate, born and raised in Kansas City, Wagner has spent the past five years working side by side colleague Anita Dixon-Brown to build the nonprofit organization – Creative City KC, as the framework and foundation for Kansas City’s UNESCO City of Music.

Associate Professor of Urban Planning and Design at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Jacob keenly watches the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals on a very practical level as the co-founder of the UMKC Center for Neighborhoods – a research and outreach organization within the University that serves volunteer neighborhood leaders in the Kansas City area.

Jacob is the Focal Point for Kansas City UNESCO City of Music and the Coordinator, Music Subnetwork, UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
