Kern is a speaker, workshop leader, and consultant in the field of Networks, Creative Economy/Culture and Creative Industries, Migration and the role of Culture and the Arts for sustainability, urban development and public or private management.

In his capacity as international City Consultant/Advisor he supports cities in sustainable urban development policies in general as well as cultural policies in special and the field of Creative Economy. Currently he is advising the main Think Tank of Malaysia “think City” in the development of the Creative Economy in the country.
