Building Prosperous Cities Through Music

TIME: 9:15 AM

LOCATION: RBC Place • 300 York St. • London, ON

Music can drive economic and social prosperity in your community but requires careful consideration and intentional planning. Creating conditions where music can flourish demands a commitment to make music - and musician-friendly policies. The term ‘Music City’ is synonymous with a vibrant and prosperous local music sector. It’s a community of any size with a thriving music economy that is recognizing, promoting and receiving the benefits of music through an increase in jobs created, tax revenues received and returned spending back in the community. The smallest of changes can have the greatest of impacts. This session welcomes international leaders to set the tone for a day of engaging and thought-provoking conversations. Learn how Mannheim, Germany and Norrköping, Sweden have transformed their cities into vibrant cultural centres with music at the forefront.
