This segment brings other creative industries to the forefront to share their lessons and learnings. Municipalities have a long-standing appreciation for recreation and the relationship it plays within a community. Looking at the services provided by municipalities, one finds a wide variety of accessible park services, sports facilities, libraries, film incentives and others. Municipalities assign significant budget to providing staff, facilities, coordination and maintenance of these portfolios. While these services are a great use of public funding, music often doesn't have the same staff or funding allocation. This discussion explores the success of other creative sectors and asks the question: how can municipalities learn from sport, film and other art forms to incorporate music into their day-to-day customer service delivery?
