Ilana Guslits is the Farm and Gardens Programs Manager at Growing Chefs! Ontario, a local non-profit that unites chefs, growers, educators and community members in children’s food education projects. She has over 10 years of experience working in both rural and urban agriculture projects, including for-profit farming, as well as non-profit organizations centered on community engagement and education. Before working in agriculture, Ilana worked in both back of house and front of house roles in the restaurant industry in Montreal and Halifax.
Ilana was born and raised in London, spending her formative teen years attending all ages shows at Call the Office and DIY shows at Yale st. while volunteering with grassroots orgs like Food not Bombs. Ilana is passionate about food as a human right, and advocates for that through building respectful and meaningful relationships with the diversity of local Indigenous communities who steward Deshkan Ziibi, as well as the vibrant Newcomer communities and with individuals who are unhoused or underhoused.
